A Tearful Reunion

Aaron Mitchell was just reunited with his Dad two years after aestrangement and now he thought he lost him again. Up until two years ago, Aaron and his father hadn’t spoken for many years, so their reunion held special significance for a father and a son who had already spent so much time apart. He left his home in Aransas Pass, Texas to reach his Dad in Rockport. He walked 12 miles in the dark but his father was forced to evacuate to Austin. Aaron was so emotional when he said he lost everything that he had worked for in an interview with CNN. There was no cell phone to contact anyone. So CNN let him use their satellite phone and he tearfully reached his Dad. They appeared on CNN after their reunion. In tears Aaron said he had been taking people for granted and got so involved in materialistic stuff. He said he was changing his lifestyle after Hurricane Harvey, and that his Dad was his hero. It seems that all too often when we almost lose someone or something so precious to us, we realize what an integral part they played in our life and how they should have been treasured.
