Yesterday I made a business phone call and I got to witness to that young man about inviting Jesus into his heart. I just so enjoy doing that. I want everybody to get to go to heaven and it’s just a thrill to have a small part in that. I tell people about this website, so it’s easy to share about Jesus. But I’ve been asking people for years if they are Christian. If you’re not in the habit of doing this, ask the Lord to give you the grace to do it. It will certainly bless you. Even if you don’t pray with them, you never know what your words meant to them. It can mean eternal life for them, and you can have such joy in your heart!
The Greatest Opportunity
Lynne Hammond wrote this in her “Devotions for the Praying Heart”. “Many years ago, the Lord spoke to me about the fact that He is always giving us opportunities to move up into higher places with Him. He is always providing us with opportunities to mature and expand spiritually. If we take them, we’ll go on to greater places in God….A friend of mine who heard me preach along those lines recently pointed out this fact to me: the greatest, most consistent opportunity God gives us each day is the opportunity to spend time with Him.”
Focus On Smiling
“Focus on giving smiles away and you will always discover that your own smiles will always be in great supply! ——-Joyce Meyer
God Is Wild About Us
I shared the other day about how Jesus whispered in someone’s ear that He was wild about them. Then I found this precious song sung by the Lifetree Kids on the Internet. Here are the words.”He’s wild, He’s wild, God is wild about us! It’s so amazing to think about God’s love. The God of creation is looking out for us. He knows us. He hears us. God is right here with us. And He’s wild, He’s wild, God is wild about us! God is great! He is awesome! He’s wild, He’s wild, God is wild about us!”
A Time Capsule
“Each prayer is a time capsule. You never know when or where or how God is going to answer it, but He will answer it.” —–Pastor Mark Batterson
Our Sins Canceled
“He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all –- our sins, our stained soul –- He deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto His cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation.” Colossians 3:14, the Passion Bible
Experience God’s Love
There is absolutely nothing to compare with the experience of knowing how much Jesus loves us. Brennan Manning in his book, “The Signature of Jesus”, writes about such an experience of a young woman. On retreat, after hearing about the compassion of Jesus, she closed her eyes and was dancing with Jesus. Jesus whispered in her ear, “Christine, I’m wild about you.” It deeply affected her. The love of Jesus swept over her and engulfed her. That’s the love of God that needs to saturate us. I pray that we all experience Jesus being wild about us.
Look Expectantly
“Prayer needs three organs of the body that are all located on the head. The ear hears His word to us, the tongue repeats what we’ve heard from Him back to Him, and the eye looks expectantly for the answer.” ——-The late Pastor Armin Gesswein
Imminent Victory
“As believers in these last days, we must be examples. Instead of drawing back because things look bad, we must continue in faith and cast all of our fear and anxiety upon God. The result will be great victory and increase when it looks like failure. When your back is against the wall and it looks like imminent defeat, God has a better plan. It’s called imminent victory.” ——-An excerpt from The Cutting Edge Daily Devotional by Dr. Larry Ollison
In God’s Presence
“It’s really not that hard to get into His presence, you just have to make a quality decision to do it. And no one else can make that decision for you! In God’s presence, you will be revived and empowered! Acts 3:19 in the Amplified says, ‘Times of refreshing, of recovering from the effects of heat (fiery trials), of reviving with fresh air may come from the presence of the Lord.’ That’s what you need right now, but it only comes from being in the presence of the Lord.” —— An excerpt from Jerry Savelle’s email
