You can’t allow everything that happens to you to affect you.  Don’t let worry, negativity, or offense affect your spirit.  If you stay in peace, God will fight your battles for you.  You can’t let poison in over and over, and expect to live a positive, faith-filled life.  Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it”. (NIV)  You can’t be passive; you have to be selective about what takes your time and attention.  The more favor that’s in your life, the more opposition it can stir up.  A vertical relationship can create horizontal conflict.  So, as we insulate ourselves with the Word of God forming a wall of protection around our heart and spirit, anything that is not of God will not be able to adversely affect us.  We can’t always stop things from happening around us, but we can stop them from entering into our heart.
