Divine Dissatisfaction

Judy Jacobs is a Christian recording artist, who is probably best known for singing “Days of Elijah”.  In her book, “Stand Strong”, she writes about divine dissatisfaction.  “This kind of divine dissatisfaction may be uncomfortable, but it’s a good thing to have.  It keeps you looking up to heaven, and it keeps you from putting your roots down too deeply into anything else that could take God’s place in your life.  The only life that’s worth living is one that’s aiming to be 100% sold out to God.  Even if you’re only 10% sold out to God right now, you can increase your percentage.  I’m aiming for that 100%, because the fact of the matter is that if I don’t have Jesus, I don’t have a life, and neither do you.  We can’t find life in a car, in a job, in our bank account, in a husband or a wife, in another husband or wife -– it can only be found in Jesus…Only God can give you peace, joy, and true, deep satisfaction.  Only God can take all the bad times and turn them inside out into something new and wonderful.”
