Willing To Be Made Willing

John Wilbur Chapman was an evangelist in the late nineteenth century.  When he was younger, his life was changed when he heard F.B. Meyer, another evangelist at the time, say this.  “If you are not willing to give up everything for Christ, are you willing to be made willing?”  Chapman said, “That remark changed my whole ministry; it seemed like the new star in the sky of my life.”  His newfound commitment prompted him to say this.  “Anything that dims my vision of Christ, or takes away my taste for Bible study, or cramps me in my prayer life, or makes Christian work difficult, is wrong for me; and I must, as a Christian, turn away from it.”
